ABOUT

The Fishermenz Group Inc. is a community service organization that provides education, treatment, and resources that uplift, encourage and teach young boys between the ages of 8 -14, towards academic achievement, acquisition of vocational skills and experiential study; and wellness. The program participants will be provided assessment, counseling, tutorial and vocational services to include apprentice- mentoring. The program is designed to broadened, strengthen and develop opportunities towards self-sufficiency and self- efficacy for each program participant.

SPIRITUALITY

The individual is introduced to the power and ability to heal the disconnect between mind and body through spirituality by seeking wholeness through addressing the philosophical problems of meaning and identity. For some participants this introduction may or may not be a pre-requisite to a belief in a higher power or organized religion. The goal is to realize the plan for the individual as a spiritual being and to support the individual as he moves toward self-actualization and self-transcendence.

FAMILY CONNECTIONS & SENSE OF BELONGING

Valuing connected family relationships whether biological, blended or through kinship. The goal is to teach functionality and participation within the family unit as a healthy contributing member.

CAREER EXPLORATION & PLANNING

Learning the benefits of work and exercising the choice of selecting a career or vocation that meets your individual needs. The goal is to become self –sufficient and discover the things you love to do; whether through paid or volunteer services.

WELLNESS

A state of physical well-being is not just the absence of disease. It includes lifestyle behavior choices to ensure health, avoid preventable illnesses, conditions and the ability to live in a balanced state of body, mind, and spirit. The objective is to provide educational awareness to learn how to take care of one’s physical and mental health. Through nutrition, fitness, personal hygiene and good choices, the goal is to learn how to live a healthy life while at work or play.

SUPPORT SYSTEM

Building a support system through nurturing positive interpersonal relationships with others. The goal is to learn how to build trust and lasting supportive relationships.

FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Having the financial resources necessary for self-sufficiency and to achieve your fiscal goals. The goal is to learn and adhere to basic principles of financial planning.
